Calvin S. Partridge

Ashland, NY- Calvin S. Partridge, 83 a lifelong Ashland resident died on Jan.1,2012 at the Kaaterskill Care Nursing Home. He was born on Aug. 11,1928 in Ashland, NY at the Partridge Farm House, the son of Blaine G. and Edna(Case) Partridge. He was predeceased by his wife Alice VanHoesen Partridge, his son Gary, sisters Alice Partridge Brink, Louise P. Richards and his brother George Partridge. He is survived by his children Larry, Randall, Kevin and Debbie Partridge,his sister Irene Cummings and his brother Edwin Partridge. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Calvin retired from the Greene County Highway Dept. and the Town of Ashland as the Highway Superintendant. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, beekeeper, sawyer, farmer and maple producer. He also was one of the last survivors of the one room schoolhouse of Ashland, NY. Calling hours will be held at the Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Friday Jan. 6,2012 from 2-4 &7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Sat. Jan. 7,2012 in the funeral home at 11:00am.Interment will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.
