Della May Aldershoff

Rotterdam, NY- Della May Aldershoff,83 of Rotterdam NY died at her residence on Feb. 18,2011 surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 29,1927 the daughter of Wilfred and Della May Dancause in Albany, NY. She was predeceased by her brother Wilfred F. Dancause. She is survived by her husband of 63 yrs. whom she married on June 28,1947,Garrett J. Aldershoff. She is also survived by her children Garrett J. (Debbie) Aldershoff, John H. (Jane) Aldershoff and Donna Lee (Jeff) Rechter. She is the loving grandmother of Jennifer and Joseph Aldershoff and Brian and Melissa Rechter. She is also survived by her sisters in law Frances Halsdorf and Mary Relyea, her aunt Irma Garlock and her nieces Phyllis Relyea and Patricia Brown. Mrs. Aldershoff retired in 1990 as a school bus driver for the Niskayuna School District with 20 years of service. She also worked for Campbell Plastics and Hyke Mills of Renselear during her lifetime. She was a member of St. Madeline Sophie Parish. She was an avid bowler,having bowled all over the country as a member of the NYS Seniors Club. She also was an avid camper belonging to the National Campers and Hikers Association in her earlier years. Calling hours will be held on Tues. Feb. 22,2011 from 6-8pm at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wed. Feb.23,2011 at St. Madeline Sophie R.C. Church at 11:30 am.
