Evelyn H. Cottone

Evelyn H. Cottone 86 died May 5,2012 at A.O.Fox Hospital,Oneonta .She was born on June 13,1925 in Youngs Station,East Sidney,NY to Carrie(Ruling) & Harold Crawford.Evelyn was the oldest of 9 children. Evelyn owned and Operated Cottone's Adult Home in Prattsville for many years.She most recently made her home at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford,NY.Where she enjoyed the company of other residents and playing Bingo. Evelyn was married to Raymond Cottone on October 4,1942 .They later divorced. Raymond died in 1998.They had 3 children together,who survive her. Kathleen (Frank) Warner of Apollo Beach,Fl., Ruth (Frank) Pelkey of Windham,NY and Paul of Oneonta,NY.Survivors also include 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchldren,Brothers, James ( Lynda) Crawford of Wells Bridge,NY,& George (Etta) Crawford of Unadilla,NY.Sister Melvina (Lynn)Teelon of Bainbridge,NY.Many nieces and nephews.She was pre deceased by her siblings,LaVerne,Leslie,Betty,Alice and Marian. Viewing will be held on Wednesday May 9 from 10:00 am-11:00 am prior to the Funeral service at 11:00 am at Deckers Funeral Home 5312 Main St.Windham,NY.Burial will follow at Union Church Cemetary in East Sidney,NY. In leiu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to the Reformed Dutch Church of Prattsville Restoration Fund or to the Zadock Pratt Museum Restoration Fund,both on Main St.,Prattsville,NY 12468.
