Georgette E. Krauss

Jewett,NY Krauss- Georgette, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away on May 3, 2016, at age 72, after suffering a stroke at her home. Georgette had lived in Jewett, New York, since 1988. Born in Jackson Heights, Queens, she was the daughter of Dr. George G. Krauss and Mrs. Evelyn (Weiss) Krauss. Georgette earned a law degree and practiced real estate in Brooklyn before moving up the mountain, where she served as Town Judge and Sole Assessor for the towns of Jewett and Lexington. Georgette is survived by her sister, Stephanie Farrell, her neice, Deirdre Gabbay, her nephew, Stephen Farrell, and her beloved animal companions, Raney and Sophie. A memorial gathering will be held for her friends and family at Decker Funeral Home in Windham on Saturday, May 7, at 2-4 pm. Donations in her honor may be made to Animal Kind in Hudson, New York.
