Lamont M. Hungershafer

Guilderland- Lamont Matthew Hungershafer Jr., 87, entered heaven peacefully on June 1st, 2016. He was born August 4th, 1928 to the late Lamont and Dorothy (Ague) Hungershafer in Albany, NY. Lamont graduated from Nott Terrace High school. He met and married the love of his life, Lois Lourdes Elliott and together they shared a wonderful life. He was a world traveler; traveling to Ireland several times, throughout Europe and all over the U.S.A. He skied the Alps and all of the mountains out west. He also went on several cruises to Bermuda and he was an avid golfer. Lamont served his country in the Korean War and was a veteran of the Marine Corp. He spent most of his military career on a military aircraft carrier. He then had a long career in the pharmaceutical business. He was pre-deceased by his wife Lois. Lamont is survived by his children Bruce (Patricia) Hungershafer of Delmar, Mark (Susan) Hungershafer of Guilderland, and Jill Cunningham of Saratoga Springs. Beloved grandfather to Ryan (Marisa) Hungershafer of Clifton Park, Eric (Amy) Hungershafer of Latham, Kaitlin Hungershafer of Delmar, Brittany Cunningham and Colleen Cunningham of Saratoga Springs and Michaila Parker of Guilderland. He was also a great grandfather to Ellie Rose, Jack Robert and Quinn Ryan. Brother to Donnie Hungershafer, uncle to Susie Roerig of Ballston Spa and John Hungershafer of Voorheesville, and great uncle to Gina Hungershafer and Emily Roerig. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 from 2pm to 5pm at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St, Altamont. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 6th, 2016 at 11am at Fredendall Funeral Home with interment to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
