On the afternoon of October 24, 2014, Marie passed away peacefully at the Hudson hospital after a brief illness surrounded by members of her loving family. Marie was born in Catskill, NY to the late Damien and Loretta Marsh on 12/11/29 and grew up in Prattsville, NY. She owned the Westkill Garage for many years, then worked for the Thompson House in Windham until retirement. She was very independent minded, living in the same house in Westkill for 56 years until her death. She loved gardening, crocheting blankets and scarves for her grandchildren, and making lap blankets for veterans. She was a devoted Catholic, and for many years an active member of the Westkill-Lexington Community Association, the Ladies Aid of the United Methodist Church of Westkill, and the Lexington Health Club. She was predeceased by oldest son Billy, brother Mike, and her beloved Aunt Lizzie. She is survived by her brothers Johnny Marsh of Greenville, TN, and Joe Marsh of Grand Gorge, sister Catherine Decker of Westkill, children: daughter-n-law Gail Haines of Florida, Ronald and Susan Haines of Hunter, Leonard Jr. and Jackie Haines of Pratsville, Pam and Jim Tilp of Westkill, Pat and Sophia Haines of Catskill, grandchildren: Peter, Martin, Bobby, Andy, Jessica, Jason, Chris, Laurissa, Shiela and Charito, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a network of dear friends on the mountain top. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Rt 23 (Main St.) Widham, NY on Monday, October 27th from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 5188 Rt 23 in Windham at 10am with internment to follow at the Westkill rural cemetery, followed by a gathering at the Westkill Community Hall for a celebration of her life with food and refreshments.
