Altamont- Matthew Robert Bosworth, 85, of Guilderland Center passed away after a long illness on May 27, 2013, Memorial Day. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Grace Carlisle Bosworth and Newman (Doc) Baird. Mr. Bosworth was educated in area schools. Matthew proudly served in the US Navy in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He served several years as a volunteer fireman for Guilderland Center. He was employed by Tobin Packing Co. until they closed, then he worked as a Stationary Engineer at SUNY Albany. He is predeceased by his daughter Mary Brooks; his brothers Carlisle, David, Ted; his sisters Zowie Herbst and Isabelle Changa. He is survived by his cherished wife of 61 years Mary; sons William (Micky) Bosworth, Daniel Bosworth and his companion Michele Millspaugh; his daughters Margaret (Richard) Barber and Kathleen (Edward) Katz; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A special thank you to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vic and Nancy Lown. Family and friends are invited to calling hours at Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main St. Altamont, on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 4-7PM with a service to follow at 7PM.
