Pius W. Gakure

Berne- Pius Wairegi Gakure, 22, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 12, 2010 in Albany, New York. Pius attended Lukenya High School, Nairobi, Kenya through December 2004. He later moved to the US with his parents and enrolled at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School where he graduated in 2006. He later enrolled with Buffalo State University of New York to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy in the spring of 2006 until the fall of 2008. Pius was a jovial loving and laid back young man with tremendous potential. His death came as unexpected shock. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Pius is survived by his parents, John and Elizabeth Gakure of Berne, three brothers, Maxwell Gakure (Kenya), Patrick Gakure (Columbus, OH), Kevin Gakure (Huston, TX), and four sisters, Jane Gakure (Kenya), Ann Lantey (Kenya), Lilian Gakure (Kenya), and Patricia Gakure (Kenya). A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday March 26, 2010 at Rock Road Chapel, followed by an interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call prior from 10 to 12 PM at the church.
