Violet E. Cross

Violet E. Cross born on March 23, 1923 wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 after a long illness. A lifelong resident of the area she worked with her husband Bruce on the family farm in North Lexington for over 40 years. During her retirement she worked as a senior companion for a number of years taking care of the elderly of the mountain top. Her passion was taking care of her family by always putting them first and never worrying about herself. She came from a family of 15 and was a tireless worker in any undertaking. Predeceased by her husband, Bruce, daughter, Carol, son, Robert B. Sr. and two grandchildren, Edward Cross and Judy Truesdell. She is survived by son, Tom and his wife, Diane Robert's wife, Roseann Cross Carol's husband, Jay Truesdell Grandchildren Robert B. Cross Jr., Larry Cross , Laurie Kramer , Allen B. Cross. Greg Cross Jay Truesdell , Gene Truesdell Elizabeth Cross and Matthew Miville and several great grandchildren Memorial service will celebrate her life on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 11AM at the Jewett Presbyterian Church, 53 Church Street (Route 17), Jewett, N.Y., graveside service following at the Lexington cemetery.
