Barbara A. Cross

Barbara A. Cross, 88 of Berne, passed away Sunday, August 17 2025 in Albany Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Daughter of the late Charles and Lenore Irish Filkins. Barb was raised and grew up with Millard "Pete" and Edna Furman. Beloved wife of Gerald Cross whom she shared 67 years of marriage.

Barbara enjoyed a long career in the Berne-Knox-Westerlo School District. She enjoyed her long membership with the Berne Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she formed lifelong friendships. Barb will be remembered for her infectious smile, her amazing laugh, and let's not forget her delicious pies and fudge.

In addition to her husband Gerald, Barb is survived by her children Wade (Cheryl) Cross of Santa Clarita Ca and Geri Lynn (Anthony) Teta of Glens falls and her son in law Jeffrey Myers of Williamsport Pa.; her grandchildren Kevin, Laura, Emily, Marlie Cross, Merideth Myers, Nicholas and Olivia Teta; her great grandchildren Donovan, Leo, Alice and Lydia. Additionally, Barb was the beloved sister of Edward, David and Micheal Flikins and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  

In addition to Barb's parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Kelly Myers and her siblings Doris Keeler and Evelyn Corsi.

A funeral service will be celebrated for Barbara on Saturday August 23rd at 9:30am in the First Reformed Church of Berne 1664 Helderberg Trail, Berne. Interment immediately following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne. Family and friends are invited to visit with Barb's family in the church in the evening on Friday August 22 from 4pm until 7pm.
