Barbara Ann Gray passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2022 at the age of 72. She graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo and then continued her education to become an LPN. Barbara ran her own day care for many years and was known by all the kids as “Nana". Barbara was the first to volunteer whenever anything was needed and would do anything for anyone. She especially loved being a member of the American Legion Post 977 where she was a secretary and chaplin. She did anything that needed to be done at the Legion from cooking, bartending, and cleaning. Barbara loved gardening, embroidery, and crocheting. She has made many baby blankets for every baby born that she knew. Barbara was loved by everyone who knew her and will be so deeply missed.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 32 years Don Gray, her daughter Wendy Pollard (Marc), her son Donivan Pitcher (Tracey) Son in Law: Chad Ferriero Her grandchildren: Adam, Ashley, Evan, Emily, Christopher, Chet (Tas), Shane, JD, and Carson. Her sisters Elaine Persons (Tom), Susan Halse (Ed), Joan Morrow (Morris) and her brothers Thomas and Michael Garry (Brenda), Her brother in law David Gray (Deb), her sisters in law Dayle Hempstead (Don), Darlene Leto (Mike), Doreen Struck (George), Dawn Bentley (Bill), and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Barbara is predeceased by her parents George and Martha Garry and her daughter Tammy Ferriero. An open house memorial gathering will be held at the American Legion Post 977 located @ 988 Altamont Blvd. Altamont, NY on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 12-4.
