Vincent, Barbara J. – Saratoga Springs

Barbara J. Vincent of Saratoga Springs passed away March 25th with her loving family and trusted aide at her side. Daughter of the late Stanley and Leona Stangle (Grow). Beloved wife of Pastor James E. Vincent.

Barbara will be remembered by her family and friends for her devotion to her faith. Committed to the role of being a “Pastor’s wife” she enjoyed serving churches in Stanton New Jersey, Danboro Pennsylvania, and Warwick New York. Barbara was a gracious lady and will be remembered by many for her great sense of humor and infectious laughter that brightened any room, winning the hearts of many. Barbara enjoyed singing in the church choir, taking part in church events like the Holly Trail, and teaching Sunday School. Her ability to listen to others, her positive energy and her compassion will be deeply missed. In addition to her church service, she worked full-time in human resources and school administration, all while raising her children. Barbara had a keen sense of hospitality and was always willing to share her life through her home and table. She most enjoyed being a grandmother and was playful, engaged, and committed to her grandchildren. She was an avid golfer, hiker, and a “pro” at shuffleboard.

Her strong Christian faith informed her support of social justice. In later years she attended Old Saratoga Reformed Church and lived in the Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs.

Barbara is survived by her children: Doug Vincent, Susan (James) Cox, and Laura Ryder; and her beloved grandchildren: Emily, Cameron, Ian, and Ethan.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Old Saratoga Reformed Church, 48 Pearl Street, Schuylerville, NY on Saturday, April 2nd at 2pm with the Reverend Joyce DeVelder officiating. Barbara's family will be receiving guests immediately following the service.  Kindly consider a memorial contribution in Barbara’s memory to Interfaith Partners for the Homeless in Albany( iphny.org ) or Direct Relief (https://www.directrelief.org/emergency/ukraine-crisis/).
