Carol A. Tubbs (née Miltner) passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in her home in Knox, surrounded by her family. Born in October of 1946, Carol was the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Smith) Miltner.

When taking a break from baking, Carol could be found enjoying a winning visit to the Casinos or enjoying a good book.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Rachel Sherman and Jennifer Dexter; Carol's greatest joy, her granddaughter Caroline (Connor) Lasch; her sons by choice, Skip (Nicole) VanAuken, and Michael VanAuken; and her siblings; Linda (Richard) Dexter, Gary (Lisa) Miltner. Additionally, Carol is survived by her dear friend Barb Russell.

Carol was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Dexter (d.1986) and Richard Tubbs (d. 2025). Additionally, Carol is predeceased by her siblings Terry, Chuck, and Martin Miltner.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday August 8, 2026, from 9 to 11 am in the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St, Altamont. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11am in the funeral home.  Inurnment will be in Knox Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
