Cathy Ann Whiteley

Cathy Ann Whiteley formerly of Berne passed away on Sunday August 3rd 2025 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady following a long battle of various illness.

This is written in loving memory of Cathy Ann Whiteley, born and raised in Troy on January 22, 1950 She was a graduate of Lansingburgh high school. The daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Bergeron, Cathy was the beloved wife of the late Clifford Whiteley whom she married on July 24, 1971.

Cathy and Clifford resided in Troy and later moved to Berne in August of 1977, where they raised their four children. They both enjoyed a quiet life. They traveled as much as they were able. Cathy was a strong and confident woman who had many jobs over the years ranging from being a cashier to a bank teller; but her greatest joy and accomplishment was in being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching musicals and loved doing crafts focusing on painting ceramics. Cathy loved Disney and enjoyed collecting Disney figurines. She enjoyed decorating her home for all the holidays. She was the heart and soul of all she loved. A treasure to love and spend time with and she will be missed by all who loved her.

Cathy is survived by her children; Timothy L. Whiteley, Rebecca A. Hayden, Keith M. Whiteley and Anita M. Whiteley and her grandchildren Christina M. Michael, Mikayla R. Daly, Dartanyen C. Michael, Jacob M. Whiteley and her sister Maryellen Gilbert. Additionally, Cathy was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Cathy was predeceased by her brother Robert Bergeron.

In following Cathy's wishes there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville on Wednesday August 13th at 10am. Guests are encouraged to arrive in the cemetery at 9:45am and meet at the entrance where a funeral cortege will be assembled prior to the service.
