Christine F. (Visco) Pushkarsh Christine Pushkarsh passed away quietly after a prolonged illness in her own home in Durham, New York on October 3, 2015 amid the comfort of her family. She was 71. The daughter of the late Frank Visco and Margaret Mannell Visco, she was born on March 3, 1944 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A dedicated nurse and health care professional for many years, Christine was a graduate of The Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., received her R.N. degree from the Bellevue Schools of Nursing in New York, N.Y. and her B.S.N. degree from New York University, New York, N.Y. After a long career in clinical nursing, she went on to serve as Executive Director of Inter-County Home Care for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany. An avid reader, Christine also enjoyed gardening, music, witty conversation and her grandchildren. She was known for her social consciousness, gregarious nature and joie de vivre. Her table was always filled with delicious food, laughter and love. Christine's warmth, empathy and generous spirit transformed the lives of her family, friends and acquaintances in ways best remembered in the hearts of those blessed to share in the joy of her time with us. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Michael A. Pushkarsh, son, Christopher M. Pushkarsh, and his wife, Laura Cunningham Pushkarsh, of Poughquag, N.Y., daughter, Vanessa Pushkarsh Kenealy, and her husband, Dr. James F.X. Kenealy, of Hopkinton, MA., three loving grandchildren, Caroline A. Pushkarsh, Allison A. Pushkarsh and Aidan J. A. Kenealy, all of whom she adored. Christine is also survived by two siblings, her sister, Rosamond Reisen of Bethel, CT., and her brother, Richard P. Visco, and his wife, Barbara, of Queens, N.Y. She enjoyed the company of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Christine was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte A. Visco, of Albany, N.Y. and Caroline Visco, of New York, N.Y. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Windham, N.Y. Interment will be private.
