Altamont – Christopher G. Morey died peacefully on March 22nd, 2023 following a brief illness. Christopher was the son of the late William and Marjorie Quinn Morey and the loving husband of the late Deborah A Morey. Christopher was the beloved companion of Rosanne Mancini.
Chris was an avid race car driver fan. You would always see him at Fonda Speedway or Saratoga Speedway enjoying the stock car races. In his early years, he was a race car driver himself and later sponsored a driver by the name of Steve Bidwell.
Chris loved riding his motorcycles and driving his 1951 Ford Coupe. He drove that Ford everywhere!
Chris was a member of the Berne Masonic Lodge # 684. He joined the Lodge on February 5, 1987. He became a Master Mason on March 4, 1987. He was a respected and Loyal Mason for 35 years. He received the Grand Lodge Distinguished Service Award for his dedication to the Fraternity and various charitable events that it supported. His Spirit and Fellowship will be greatly missed.
Chris was also a member of The Low Twelve Riders Acacia Chapter, a group of Masons that rode motorcycles together and supported Masonry and its charitable works.
Chris is also survived by a son, William G. Morey III (Kristen) and granddaughter Elise Quinn Morey; his brother, William Q Morey (Linda) of Kingston, Ontario and a niece Sarah Morey of North Charleston, South Carolina. Chris is also survived by his devoted friend William “Bill” Praisner.
