Harold B. Grippin, (93), long-time resident of East Berne passed away at home on September 21, 2023.

Born in Binghamton, NY on February 18, 1930. He was the son of the late Ralph and Harriet (Bogart) Grippin. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Schell) Grippin, whom he married May 27, 1955, sharing 68 years of marriage.

Harold graduated from C. A. Bouton High School and went on to serve his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War.

Harold drove bus for Bethlehem Central School District and retired to spend time with his family and tend to his farm.

Harold and Dorothy enjoyed spending family time with their children Timothy Grippin, Michele Murphy, and the late Thomas Grippin; their grandchildren, Wesley Grippin and Jordan and Jessica Murphy; and their great grandsons, Owen and Ryan Grippin and Miles Murphy. He was the brother of Gordon and MaryEllen Grippin and the late Marion Countryman, Carol Wengenack and Gerald Grippin.

Harold enjoyed camping and fishing at the St. Lawrence River, hunting, and tending to his farm. He enjoyed conversing with his co-workers, neighbors, friends and his Tuesday breakfast with the Old Men of the Mountain.

Family and Friends are invited to visit Harold's family in the Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street, Altamont from 4-6pm on Friday, September 29,2023.
