Irene Schneider

Irene Schneider, 54, of Summerville, died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her son's home after a brief battle with cancer. Born February 13,1963 in Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Donald Shamus and Dorothy Forte Shamus. Irene worked in the housekeeping department at the Villa Vosilla & Forester Hotels in the Hunter, NY area. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, and swimming. Irene is survived by four sons, Michael Schneider of Hunter, NY, Alan Schneider Jr. of Summerville, PA, John Schneider, and his wife Beth, of Summerville, PA and Anthony Schneider of Hornell, NY; one daughter, Monica Schneider of Fall River, MA; and four grandchildren, Mason, Trenton, Hayley, and Ashton. She is also survived by one brother, Gregory Shamus, and wife Darlene, of Coxsackie, NY and three sisters, Eva Barry, and fiancé Richard Hubbard, of Windham, NY, Angela Schwartz, and husband Jared, of Windham, NY, and Charlene Sizemore, and fiancé Jason Chura, of Maplecrest, NY. Calling Hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY on Friday April 14, 2017 from 2-4 pm.
