Jack David Smith

Jack D Smith, 65, of Princetown died Friday, May 20 after a brief illness. Jack grew up in Schenectady and graduated from Linton High School, then served in the Navy in Vietnam and was a fierce Patriot. He was very active in the community having served the Schonowe Fire Department for many years, as well as being a member of the Rotterdam Elks, Schenectady Eagles and Schenectady Moose, Altamont post of the VFW and was also National Historian for VOSA. Jack was the son of Alexander and Lola (Borst) Smith and was pre-deceased by his wife of 15 years, Patricia Alexson. Jack is survived by his daughter, Kelly Alexson of Rotterdam, his brother David Smith of Richfield Springs and his sister Carol Haight of Fort Mill, South Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10-11AM at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont with a memorial service to follow.
