Judith A. Wilson

August 31, 1947 — December 30, 2025

Delanson

Judith A. Wilson, 78, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the home she and her husband built in Knox. Born in Delmar, she was the eldest daughter of the late Marjorie and William Murphy. She was married to her husband, Frederick (Rick) W. Wilson Jr. for 29 years before his passing.

Judi is survived by her two sons, Frederick (Rick) W. Wilson III and Brian W. Wilson, and her grandson, the apple of her eye Frederick (Ricky) W. Wilson IV. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Judi was a devoted mother and grandmother ("Gaga") and a beloved aunt. She spent her early career working for the state before becoming a full-time homemaker. Throughout her life, she and her family lived in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Florida while supporting her husband's career. Wherever she lived, she made lasting connections and welcomed others into her home.

She enjoyed boating with her husband and family, spending time on the water in Canandaigua and Fish Creek, and traveling, including trips to Alaska and Ireland with her sister, Mary Ellen. In her final weeks, Judi returned from Florida to Knox to spend Christmas with her children and grandson, a holiday she especially loved.

Judi was known for her kindness and generosity. She made people feel welcome, whether by including one more person at the table or offering quiet support when it was needed. She found joy in simple moments, time with family, and caring for others.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ellen Gordon; her parents; her uncle, Albert Fisher; and her husband, Rick, who passed 17 years before her.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Judi's family on Tuesday January 6th in the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont from 3pm until 6pm. A prayer service will immediately follow the visitation in the funeral home at 6pm. Interment will be held privately in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, where Judith will rejoin her husband Frederick Wilson.
