Obituary for Katherine Marie (McCormick) Irwin July 15, 1924 – October 19, 2017 Katherine Marie (McCormick) Irwin, wife of Professor James O. Irwin, passed away quietly in her sleep on Thursday, October 19, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer. Katherine was born July 15, 1924 in Hamden, CT. She was 93. She is survived by one sister, Vicky Lanz; three daughters, one son and two sons-in-law, Leslie Tiffany, Nancy and Naji Sleiman, James O. Irwin, Jr., Margaret (Peggy) Irwin and Joe D'Anna; five grandchildren and spouses, Emily and Phil Merrill, Jaime and Matt Sullivan, William (Billy) Tiffany, Stephanie Sube and Susannah Strawser; and four great grandchildren, Carolina Merrill, Nathaniel Merrill, Blaine and Brady Tiffany.
