Lois M. Coons

Altamont - Lois M. Coons, 91, died on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at home. Born on December 22, 1919 in Holland, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanette Knooihuizen. She was a Secretary, employed by Mt. Pleasant Public Library. Mrs. Coons was a member of the Altamont Reformed Church and served on its consistory. Lois is survived by three children William H. Coons Jr. of Lebanon, NH, David (Thea) Coons of Pickerington, OH, Mary (Rick) Wallace of Altamont; five grandchildren Alison (Richard) Craver, Adrean (Glenn) Kreig, Scott (Sarah) Coons, Kevin (Mariah) Coons, and Neil (Annie) Coons; five great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Rev. William Coons and her grandson Christopher Coons. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Altamont Reformed Church. Friends may call Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. An interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Germantown Reformed Church Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in Lois memory to a Community Hospice of their choice.
