Lois Hungershafer

Guilderland- Lois Lourdes Hungershafer, 81, entered heaven peacefully on February 17, 2014. She was born on July 8, 1932 to the late Clarence and Amelia (LeClare) Elliott in Cohoes, NY. Lois graduated from Catholic High. She met and married the love of her life Lamont “Monty” Hungershafer, and together they shared a wonderful life. She was a world traveler; traveling to Ireland several times, thru out Europe and all over the United States. She skied the Alps and all of the mountains out west. She also went on several cruises to Bermuda. She was an avid golfer. For twenty-five years she was the receptionist for Guilderland Town Hall. Along with her husband of sixty years, Lois is survived by her children Bruce (Patricia) Hungershafer of Delmar, Mark (Susan) Hungershafer of Westmere, and Jill Cunningham of Saratoga Springs. Beloved grandmother to Ryan (Marisa) Hungershafer of Niskayuna, Eric (Amy) Hungershafer of Latham, Brittany Cunningham of Saratoga Springs, Colleen Cunningham of Saratoga Springs, Kaitlyn Hungershafer of Albany and Michaelia Hungershafer of Westmere; great grandmother to Ellie Rose Hungershafer and the new baby on the way; sister-in-law to Donnie Hungershafer; aunt to Susie Roerig of Ballston Spa and John Hungershafer of Voorheesville; great aunt to Gina Hungershafer and Emily Roerig. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 4-8PM at Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street, Altamont. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10AM at Fredendall Funeral Home with interment to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
