M. Jennifer Danielle Brockley Hale, of Altamont, NY, passed away suddenly on June 12, 2025.
Born in March 1961 to Jean and Warren Brockley, Jennifer brightened every room she walked into with her emerald, green eyes and infectious smile.
Raised in the rolling hills along the Knox/Altamont line, Jennifer was one of 9 children, including 7 sisters, all but one first named Mary.
As a child she would take walks with her brothers and sisters through the thyme fields adjacent to their home, as they made their way toward the limestone cliffs of High Point.
Jen is the first of her beloved siblings to pass.
She was a Graduate of Guilderland High School, and attended College at SUNY Geneseo, where she met Kevin, her devoted husband of 41 years.
Jennifer was passionate about helping others, working for many years at Altamont Elementary school as a teacher's aide for special education, while comforting those in hospice care in her spare time.
She had a special bond with Father Paul Smith of St. Lucy's, who visited Jen & Kevin regularly. He comforted them with the Eucharist at home, during the four years Jen battled her long covid.
Jen loved making crafts when she could, working on one project or another. From finger-painting with her grandchildren to her vivid barn quilts, Jennifer let her creativity shine.
When not crafting, she could be found tending to her garden, reading a book (which she did avidly), or practicing archery, a skill passed to her by her father.
Known for her kindness and generosity, Jennifer will be missed by all who knew her.
Jennifer leaves behind her husband, their sons Christopher and Michael, her beloved daughters-in-law, Chelsea and Jean, and her grandchildren Theodore, Lily, and Nicholas. She is survived by all her sisters and brothers.
A celebration of her life will be held for friends and family from 2 to 5pm on Saturday, June 21st, at their camp in the grove behind the old Thompsons Lake Hotel.
It is adjacent to the NYSDEC Boat Ramp on the south end of Thompsons Lake in East Berne, NY.
