Born February 1, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Marie (Smith) and Frederick Minnick. She was predeceased by her adoring husband of 49 years Martin H. Tinkle. As a young girl she studied dance and vocal music, a joy that continued throughout her life. Marie graduated from Jamaica High School in 1938 where she excelled in stenography and secretarial work. She was employed as a secretary for Pan American Airlines in Baltimore and in New York where she met the love of her life, her husband Martin. She also worked at Greiner-Maltz Realty.
