Raymond C. Briggs of Guilderland, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home July 15, 2025. Survived by his wife Julie Cross-Briggs and his children Jonathan and Ariana. Additionally survived by his siblings Bill (Marites) Briggs of Katy TX, Ann (Joe) Briggs Paone of Clifton Park, NY Rob Briggs of Providence, RI. Although Ray's first career was in the building industry, he found his life's passion and his wife in Emergency medicine. From Ray and Julie's first meeting over a patient, to building a life together, public service was a passion they shared. Ray spent 10 years serving as a paramedic in Guilderland, before attending Maria College to become a nurse. His nursing career began at St. Peters Hospital, before leading him to the Emergency Department at Albany Medical Center. Through the years while bettering his skills, he became involved in the NYS Emergency Nurses Association, eventually becoming the State Chair of ENPC. One of his career highlights was receiving the Ann Ryan Pediatric Award. In his mind there was no better legacy to leave than educating other nurses. The last chapter of his career unfolded at Cobleskill Hospital, Bassett Healthcare Network. He was excited to bring his knowledge and talents to rural healthcare and was passionate about the need to bring advanced courses such as TNCC and ENPC to under served areas.
