Rebecca (Becky) Morse Hout, age 73 of Altamont passed away after a long illness. Born in Tacoma, WA to Richard and Rosalie Morse. Her family relocated to Rotterdam, NY. where she spent her childhood. Becky was a graduate of Notre-Dame Bishop Gibbons High School in 1970. Becky earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at Fordham University in 1974. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate at Albany Law School in 1977.

Her passion for law led her to the Schenectady Public Defender's Office, where she began her illustrious career as an Attorney then opened a private practice soon after. Becky's dedication and expertise were recognized throughout her tenure as Altamont Village Justice, a position she held with distinction for 30 years until her retirement in 2022.

Her professional accomplishments were paralleled by her commitment to her community and personal passions. She was an active member of the Train Station Quilters. She was a devoted fan of the NY Giants and Boston Red Sox, never missing a game and sharing her enthusiasm with friends and family. Her love for the beach, especially York Beach, ME was her place of solace. Becky enjoyed live music, the local Scottish Games and countless vacations across the northeast with friends and family. Creating vibrant chapters to her life story, filled with laughter and unforgettable memories.

Becky was predeceased by her husband Frederick Hout, they met through their favorite local band, Badge, in which her brother played and sparked many lifelong friendships. Their marriage in 1981 was the beginning of a partnership built on unwavering loyalty. Together, they raised two children, Abigail Mason (Nathaniel) and Stephen Hout (Rachel), instilling in them the values of integrity, compassion, and resilience. Becky's greatest joy was her grandson Noah, with whom she shared a birthday bond that brought immense pride and happiness to her life.

Becky is also survived by her sister Sarah Moyer (David) and several nieces and nephews. Becky was predeceased by her brother Richard Morse Jr. (Hope) , Sister, Maureen (Nicholas) and her parents.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Becky's family in the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont on Friday, May 29 from 2pm - 5pm. A short service to follow in the funeral home.
