Schenectady- Thrane, Robert K. (Robbie), died Tuesday, October 18, 1016 following a brief illness. Born in Schenectady on July 18, 1955, he was the son of Joyce (Mead) and the late Robert A. Thrane. Mr. Thrane was a graduate of Linton High School in Schenectady. Throughout his life, Robbie was self-employed as a landscaper and also worked as a laborer for the City of Schenectady at various times. Mr. Thrane was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing. His greatest passion was his love for animals, in all shapes and sizes. He thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of small farming. Horses, chickens and his Jack Russell, Scootie to name a few. In addition to his mother Joyce of Schenectady, Robbie is survived by his sister Debbie Houlihan of Duanesburg, Bruce Thrane and his wife Barb of Clifton Park, Ricky Thrane and his long-time companion Val Pelc of Pattersonville and Timmy Thrane of Dolgeville. One niece Erin Houlihan and three nephews Jeremy, Nick and Cory Thrane also survive him. Friends and family are invited to call at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street in Schenectady on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service and interment will take place privately at the Jonesville Cemetery in Jonesville, NY.
