Rose A. Cargill

d. April 21, 2015

Rose A. Cargill, 92 of Voorheesville, NY, beloved wife of the late William S. Cargill (her true love), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. A loving mother to her children Stephen A. (Karen) Cargill of Chicago, IL, Cynthia D. (Tiny) Coggan of Edgewater Park, NJ and Joanne (Chris) Patrie of Voorheesville, NY. She is survived by her brother Alfred (Joyce) Goguen of Gardner MA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her grandson Jason W. Cargill and her great grandson Aaron Rogers. Rose's life was touched by many special friendships, Paula and Roger Ginder and family and so many others who enjoyed many laughs and songs. Her grandsons Zachary, Bradley and Eric were most fortunate as they were privileged to have lived with "Nini" for twenty years of their upbringing. So many Voorheesville children experienced Rose's humor and character as they shared our dinner table and "Rosie-isims" she left us to remember her. Her wit, laughter and song were infectious and transcended all generations as she was a fixture in the Patrie/Cargill home. Rose was a life member of the Boyd Hilton VFW Post 7062 in Altamont. She acted as President of the Ladies Auxiliary, served thousands of dinners to Altamont Fair attendees as well as countless fund raisers supporting veterans. As Patriotic Instructor, Rose led the community each year in singing "God Bless America" at the annual Memorial Day celebration in Altamont. Her most memorable rendition took place in the Village Park following the 911 attacks. The Family is grateful for the special loving care given Rose by the staff of Our Lady of Mercy, in Guilderland, where she spent the last four years. Friends and family are invited to share memories on Sunday, April 26 from 2-4 pm at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St. Altamont. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27 at 1:00 pm at St. Lucy's / St. Bernadette Church, 109 Grand Street, Altamont. Online condolences may be made at www.fredendallfuneralhome.com
