Ruth Tompkins

Ruth Tompkins , 69 of Ashland, NY died on May 2,2010 at St. Peter's Hospice ,Albany, NY surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on Sept. 10,1940 the daughter of Clarence and Ellen Tompkins in Grand Gorge, NY. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas Roe, her brother Walter Raeder and her niece Heather Raeder. She is survived by her husband Paul (Junior) Tompkins, her daughters Linda Cunningham (Allen),Joan Albert (John) and Jane Lane (Lane). She is also survived by her siblings Hazel Ford, Clarence,Dorothy,Edward and George Raeder as well as her grandchildren Amy and Ashley Cunningham,Thomas and Janelle Albert and Jessica,Eric,Daniel and David Lane. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother . She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as the many other children that she baby sat for over the years. She was an original member of the Ashland Rescue Squad, a member of the Ashland Community Church and the Ashland Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary. Calling hours will be held on Wed. May 5, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY. A funeral service will be conducted at the Ashland Community Church on Thursday May 6,2010 at 11am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ashland Community Church or the Ashland Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary in her memory.
