Wallace Quay

d. February 16, 2011

KNOX - Wallace Quay, Sr. met his Savior face-to-face on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. He had celebrated his 94th birthday on February 13. Wally is now rejoicing in Heaven with his wife, Ella, who had predeceased him in 2003. He was known for his hospitality and kindness to anyone who crossed his path or happened upon his doorstep. You could always count on an offer for a cup of coffee. He served in the US Army as a medical technician during WWII. After the war he worked at the Navy Depot in Scotia for 33 years. After retirement he kept himself busy working on small motors. Wallace is survived by his sons Wallace Jr. and Ronald Quay. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian and Adeline Quay, Kris and Don Hackel, Steven and Vicky Quay, Matthew and Amber Quay and Kelly and Mark Blain as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Sunday February 20, 2011 from 2 to 6pm at Knox Reformed Church, Berne-Altamont Road (Rt 156), Knox. A memorial service will be held Monday February 21, 2011 at 11am at the church. Those who wish may make contributions to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or the Knox Reformed Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 86, Knox, NY 12107. "As for man, his days are like grass, as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more and its place acknowledges it no longer. But the loving-kindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him and His righteousness to his children's children." Psalm 103:15-18
