Guilderland - Wayne Crounse, 83, of Guilderland, passed away Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born in Schenectady, NY the son of the late Gordon Crounse and Beatrice (Hotaling) Crounse. Wayne attended Simmons School of funeral service and was a well-known funeral director in the capital region for many years. He later worked in the Deli at Price Chopper in Guilderland for the past 30 years.
He was a member of the Noah Masonic Temple in Altamont and Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church. Wayne loved NASCAR, cars, history and his beloved grandsons. He was always ready with a story or joke for everyone and enjoyed his morning coffee clutch at Stewart’s.
Survivors include daughter, Laura Nolan (Jeffrey) of Winter Haven, FL; son, Stephen Crounse (Judy) of Norwich, NY; grandsons Justin Nolan (Caleigh) of Bakersfield VT, Tyler Nolan (Mackenzie Ferguson) of Albany, Travis Crounse of West Sand Lake and great grandson Miller Wayne Nolan of Bakersfield, VT, Nephew Kenneth Daggett of Prattsburgh, NY. Predeceased by sister Jane Daggett and niece Elaine Lafler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Monday Dec 29, 2025, from 9:00am-11:00am followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 am at Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street, Altamont.
Contributions in Wayne's memory may be made to Community Hospice or Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church.
Funeral arrangements and services are entrusted to the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer.
